In William Dean’s latest story, Paris is a circus of sex, a whirligig of willing boys in alleyways and under bridges. “It’s about a horny American,” says author Dean, “who finds himself pimped in Paris.” But is the hero of Under the Lamplights of Paris really pimped? Or is he punked?

You’ll have to get to the end of the story to figure it out. All we’ll say is that our hero is a trust-fund horndog who has but two goals in life: to stay drunk on pastis and to get nailed by every major French dick in the Marais, the gay district of the city.

Soon, though, our native lad is asking himself the kind of questions everyone asks in Paris. Who am I? Why am I here? God, these uncut Parisians are hung! — is it something in the water?

The whirl of fuck-and-suck, the juicy thrill of whispered French in his ears! The American loved the orgy-circus feel of nights spent dancing, drinking, and fucking.

And the fucking in Paris was great! There were the lean and angry, well-oiled Algerians; the slim-hipped haut-couture Parisians; the raw-boned farmers’ sons from the country hunting their first orgasm with another man.
