It promises to be the hottest stud farm in Las Vegas, an all-male brothel that will be presided over by the notorious “Hollywood Madame” herself, Heidi Fleiss.

And Lester James Brandt (above) wants to be a part of it. You may remember (or maybe not ) Lester from his year-long stint playing a bad-boy Latino on the soap sudser Another World. That was back in 1995.

“I decided I was going to make acting a full-time career and I gave myself ten years to do it,” he said back then. Well, 10 years have come and gone with only the occasional walk-on and a lot of fitness magazine work. Lester has decided to move on to Plan B — a classic Plan B for so many beautiful boys and girls who don’t quite make it in Hollywood : big-time whoredom in Las Vegas.

“I’ve been following the guide to how to be an actor all this time. But I never got the big break,” Brandt tells Newsweek this week, explaining why he went into the stud service. “Then I met Heidi and I thought, ‘I’m gonna try something different’.”

Nightcharm wants to take this moment to applaud Brandt’s candor. Certainly, switching from struggling, starving actor to superstar stud for hire is a career path as old as the Hollywood Hills, but Brandt is the first in our reckoning to make the journey so publicly and with such a refreshing lack of whining or even the hint of a blush.

Now will Brandt be a Ladies-Only Special?

That, actually, is a legal question in Nevada, and it’s setting off a hornet’s nest because Fleiss is positioning her stud farm as a girls-only retreat. A Nevada lawman, David Parks, who is gay, plans to ask for a legal opinion this month on whether Fleiss would be violating the state’s anti-bias law by letting only women hire her studs. (Question. Does he plan to pursue the Chicken Ranch for catering its pretty pink ladies only to men?)

In the event that Heidi’s Stud Farm remains for women only, Newsweek wonders “shall we call the johns janes, and the cathouse a doghouse?” And that’s not the only questions the magazine raises:

Will Brandt and his brethren have the stamina for this kind of work? “With female prostitutes, they can see five, ten, even more clients in a day,” says Debbie Rivenburgh, manager of the Chicken Ranch in Pahrump, Nev. “I don’t know how men could keep up with that — even with Viagra.”

Others wonder if the clientele exists for such a brothel — especially one that’s an hour-and-a-half ride from the Las Vegas Strip. “What self-respecting woman would drive that far for sex when it’s so easy to find here in Vegas?” asks Jessica Martini, 28, of Houston, standing in line last week to buy tickets to Thunder From Down Under, a male-stripper revue.

But Fleiss says she can create an exotic, unique experience: perfect for bachelorette parties or for women wanting uncomplicated, STD-free hookups. “I have heard from very wealthy, very beautiful women who say they’ll be first in line,” Fleiss says.

Well, we can’t begrudge the gals. Men have had rent-boys and stud circuses for years. Good luck, Heidi.
