“The stage is a truck stop by a Highway of Hopes.”
So begins HvH’s new anthology of homo-hot tales, set somewhere to the left of the Twilight Zone. “Michael is waiting, his eyes fixed on the poorly lit restroom door…”
And what Micheal will find in that restroom and through its gloryhole is a strange sort of … perfect love.

Perfect love is at the heart of all three tales that comprise In the Blink of an Eye, HvH’s boldly poetic new graphic novel for Class Comics. But it’s the sort of perfect love few of us would recognize … at first. And a love that always comes with a wry twist to it, reminiscent of the hip existential world of Sci-Fi Noir, where the time is always night, or at best, as in the middle story where an eerily supernatural farewell takes place on a picnic blanket, at sunset. Unique to HvH, it’s a world peopled by big muscle bears; some buff, some with manly bellies.
Now we knew HvH was a master illustrator — his drawings always remind us of Disney’s extravagantly stylized Sleeping Beauty, one of the great artistic events of our childhood (see our interview with HvH from April) — but who knew the man could write so well?
Many of his set-ups have the pinpoint deftness of haiku: “Cars buzz fast in the distance. Lamps hum above charged with electricity. This is the soundtrack to his thoughts”
This, coupled , with just the right touch of comic relief as when one character explains why he’s just so damned obsessed with big cock. “I’ve buffed this butt so much, that guys must pack some extra size just to go past my muscled meat mounds.”
Ah yes, the boy can’t help it. How well we know.

Thank you for this awesome review
Coming from you, all this ‘tastes’ even better.
You rock!

Hey HvH,
Man, you’re art work is great. Masculine men in erotic encounters. You have much more talent than others could have, combining your narrative skills with your art. I’m actually jealous. I can’t find inspiration to put anything down. And then there are men like yourself who capture your audience and leave them begging for more.
