   Craig, Cheyenne Jackson speaks often and frankly about being gay and volunteers for many LGBT causes. Recently he has been a prominent figure in the Marriage Equality battle in New York State.

   Here are a few lines from Jackson’s Wikipedia entry:

   His parents were evangelical born-again Christians and this caused tension when he came out to them as gay at nineteen after he had moved to Spokane, Washington. They didn’t speak for a while and religion interfered with communicating. His brother is a pastor who preached on the 700 Club. Eventually the family accepted his being gay…

   He is openly gay and an LGBT rights supporter, as well as an advocate for several AIDS charities including American Foundation for AIDS Research, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Jackson’s partner, Monte, is a physicist; they have been together since 1999.
