‘Judge Walker’s ruling raises a shocking notion that a single federal judge can nullify the votes of more than 7 million California voters, binding Supreme Court precedent, and several millennia-worth of evidence that children need both a mom and a dad. During these legal proceedings, the millions of California residents who supported Prop 8 have been wrongfully accused of being bigots and haters. Nothing could be further from the truth. Rather, they are concerned citizens, moms and dads who simply wanted to restore to California the long-standing understanding that marriage is between one woman and one man ” a common-sense position that was taken away by the actions of another out-of-control state court in May 2008.”
– the sore asses at Focus On The Family, staunchly defending the morality of a majority limiting the rights of a minority while simultaneously crying foul when one lone gay person takes down Goliath.
We can do Biblical references too.

” . . . several millennia-worth of evidence that children need both a mom and a dad.”
I’m sorry, but as a breeder I can say that we already have the market cornered on fucking kids up if they require both a mommy & daddy to be reared correctly. I grew up with waaaaay more kids that just had a mommy because she made poor choices & daddy was a deadbeat asshole or in jail or worse. I am one of a handful of people that I know that actually grew up with both parents in the home & just because both mommy & daddy were there doesn’t mean they weren’t absent from being parents.
Agreed, FrankieB. Although I can’t necessarily say that my own parents were entirely neglectful, they were, in general, far more interested in their dysfunctional marriage than they were in their children. I often wished that they would divorce, just to put an end to the constant fighting and inevitable reconciliation.
If a child has two parents to love him or her, parents who are willing to put in the time and effort that every child deserves, why in the fuck would ANY group, regardless of religious hysteria, find it morally prudent to deny those same parents the legal protections to which they are entitled?
