Gay Porn Memories: Kent Larson, Tall Drink O' Water

Sometimes it's easy to forget
that not every gay porn star is a gay-for-pay, trick-beating enfant terrible who thinks he's doing the world a favor by whipping it out and uses up all of his lifetime comebacks by the time he hits thirty.

Some guys project a, well, sweetness, and are remembered fondly for it.

Such is the case with the strapping, corn-fed, tall drink of water named Kent Larson.

Sexy-ass Kent's porn tenure lasted a comparatively brief two years from around 2003 to 2005, but despite his abbreviated turn, he burned bright. Even outside of gay porn's diminutive height standard, Kent was a massive 6'2'' of looooooong-torsoed brawn who filled every inch of the screen. Neither a fireplug or a lanky beanpole, he had a nicely-proportioned build -- broad shoulders, narrow waist, high-sitting ass, and curvaceous legs -- that made sure he appealed to every audience with a liking for specific body zones.

Still, above all, it was Kent's face -- rugged but not hard, macho but not aggressively butch, warm without being goofy -- that really set him apart. It's hard to believe that a guy that towering could play passive and malleable so adeptly, but boy did he handle well. Best of all was the doe-eyed sensitivity he could convey with his eyes. How many porn models can leave you with an impression of "Please don't hurt me. I may be big, but I have feelings too"?

Kent reportedly worked in some fashion for the telecommunications industry before a porn star acquaintance served as his entre into the biz, and given his expertise in mounting big poles -- witness his magnificent ass riding Collin O'Neal's prick in Screw -- that's not hard to picture. It didn't take long for top line studios like Falcon, Titan, All Worlds, Hot House, and MSR to snatch him up, and he chose his projects well, opting to stick with high-end productions that employed him to excellent effect.

Riders finds him playing a flip-flopping, leather-clad biker pig, while Mount Jack memorably casts him as a park ranger whose co-star has to actually stand on his toes in order to kiss him. He's a central figure in the gym-set six-wayer from Ghetto, and proving again that he's great at working well with others, he ably essays an American tourist visiting Mexico who gets worked over in a bar by a group of lusty locals in Gored.

Olé!

Figuring he'd already won the Grabby for Best Newcomer by the time he scored a second win for Best Supporting Actor thanks to his grasp-for-leverage-and-take-it-like-a-man table-turner showstopper in 2005's Dangerous Liasions, Kent opted to go out on a high note, seeking cooler climes elsewhere.

We can only hope a lucky somebody is benefiting big from that decision.
