6. French Connections I & II (Falcon, 1998, Dir. John Rutherford)
Few gay adult video studios have been as influential as Falcon. For well over 20 years, the company (along with its subsidiaries: Jocks and Mustang) has been turning out some of the highest quality gay erotica available. In 1998's two-parter French Connections 1, and French Connections 2 a cast of 18 men, led by ubercute Abercrombie & Fitch-esque Brennan Foster, frolic in Paris and in the French countryside. |

7. Big Guns (Laguna Pacific, 1987, Dir. William Higgins) William Higgins packs a bevy of notable '80s gay porn stars into Big Guns, (left) the director's ode to the 1986 Tom Cruise vehicle "Top Gun." Buddies John Davenport and Mike Henson set off on a sexual adventure with a cast that includes John Rocklin, Jeff Quinn, and the ageless Kevin Williams. Watch out for the storied seduction scene between Henson and Williams, with Henson as the door-to-door massage therapist, and Williams as the teenager whose parents are away. 8. Flesh & Blood Few porn videos can meld an interesting story and hot sex. Usually, the mixture ends up looking like the worst fare available on the USA Network's Up All Night schlocky movie series. Director Jerry Douglas is one of the few gay porn directors who can produce a video with story and sex and have neither cancel the other out. The highlight of Flesh & Blood: charismatic, and handsome, lead Kurt Young plays identical twins who have sex with each other (talk about your creative editing!) 9. The Other Side Of Aspen II In The Other Side Of Aspen II, Kurt Marshall narrates a series of vignettes about a bunch of randy skiers (presumably) in Aspen, Colorado. This sequel to Falcon's first feature doesn't share much with the original, save the Aspen setting and one cast member (Jeff Turk). Bonus points: In the closing orgy sequence, sex-on-legs Scott O'Hara (along with his humongous curved dick) does an erotic strip tease before boinking nearly every man in the room (left). Yes, there aren't any videos from that Euro stud puppy video company on this list. While the men in Bel Ami's productions are often the most gorgeous creatures on the face of the planet, that doesn't help save the fact that a great deal of them look bored off their ass when having sex. On top of that, over 90% of Bel Ami's studs self-identify as straight and have girlfriends. Esser even admits that he only casts gay men in his videos. "I won't work with straight actors ever again," director Mike Esser said in an interview at the Pride website, "it's too much trouble. Nobody's a good enough actor to be able to carry it off to the level I want to carry it off. There are enough good-looking gay guys out there without me having to pussyfoot around straight boys." Because of the slick MTV-style editing, snappy original music, passionate sex, and tons of foreplay (you can never overemphasize the importance of kissing in an adult video), Pride's The Caller (left) becomes an erotic film, not just a porn video. |
